PAST PROJECTS:

The Royal Cartographer (2006) - A king contracts a cartographer to create an enormous map of infinite detail, which comes to cover everything it was meant to map. The map burns away when it grows so large as to reach the sun. The natural landscape that the map had obscured is revealed, which is so magnificent that the king is inspired to contract a cartographer.

Return Me to the Forest (2007) - Workers wheel a nomadic mural of a forest through the concrete grid of downtown Chicago, assembling, disassembling, taking breaks.

The Flying Cloud (2008) - A sailor constructs a ship from scraps of cardboard as he tells of becoming a slaver, and then an outlaw. While the pirates’ ship is bombarded by the Royal Navy, the cardboard ship falls to pieces amidst the audience, leaving an admonishing sailor on the gallows.

This Inevitable Accumulation (2009) - Inspired by the magic of navigation, a builder builds a tower to reach the stars. The height fails to reach the sky, but it does provide a vantage point to watch as ships crash into the shore, and so the builder makes a lighthouse instead. The lighthouse fails to protect all ships on all shores, and the builder is overwhelmed by the detritus of his ventures.

The Ogre in His Tower (2009) - A mason pauses in his work to extoll the blessings of being a bird, whilst chewing them into mortar in order to build his tower higher.

The Yellow House (2011) - A waterclock tells the story of a girl escaping the fate of growing up in a drowning house, only to be lost at sea.

Dangerous Eventualities (2013) - Stilters deliver your hopes and dreams to the stars, hanging them where you can no longer reach them without learning to walk on stilts yourself.
